Under the title "Precautionary measure: Volunteers archive Saxony-Anhalt’s digital memory" This week was Henrik Schönemann (initiator of Safeguarding Research and Culture), Aljoscha Hartmann (Radio Corax, Halle) and I at @mediasres, the media magazine of Deutschlandfunk. My short statement this time was less about digital archive services here at TIB, but about the fact that authoritarian regimes regularly try to restrict archives in order to control the (national) historical narrative. Thank you for the successful program, Nadine Lindner and Christoph Sterz!
Advertising block: Who by Henrik Schönemann, Sebastian Majstorovic and the staff*within our DFG project SHIELD wants to find out the master plan for how archives, libraries, radios... can already share their digital content preventively so that civil society can step in and take over in an emergency, should censorship or intervention threaten: in our workshop "Knowledge is a Commons" on 23.11.2026 at Wikimedia Deutschland e.V., in Berlin, there are still places available – if interested please report.

@NatureMC Das ist @Lambo@openbiblio.social's blog 🙂
